Varnam 2025: Bangalore Warrier Samajam celebrates Onam

The Bangalore Warrier Samajam (BWS) family came together on 21st September 2025 at VK Sports Auditorium, Kaggadasapura, for yet another unforgettable edition of Varnam — a day that celebrated tradition, culture, talent, and togetherness.

Distinguished Guests

We were honoured to welcome Air Vice Marshall (Retd.) Shri. Suresh Kumar as our Chief Guest. Our Honoured Guests included:

Ms. Ashwathy Warrier – Cine artist, who has debuted in both Tamil and British films.

Shri. Issac P A – Renowned social worker and community builder.

The event also featured mesmerizing performances from our special guests:

Ms. Anjali Warrier – Accomplished vocalist and playback singer, who captivated the audience with her magical singing.

Shri. Ravi Kumar Warrier – The featured performer, who enthralled everyone with his breathtaking sound illusion showcase.

Competitions Galore

An interesting day of competitions was held for all age groups before the event. The highlight this year was the Unniappam Competition, which drew enthusiastic participation and applause. In addition, the Varnam Invitation Reels Competition and the Pookalam Competition set the tone and kept everyone charged for the grand finale of Varnam on 21st September.

Highlights of the Day

Mega Thiruvathira Debut

For the first time in BWS history, about 70 graceful women of our family came together for a Mega Thiruvathira performance — a beautifully coordinated symphony of movement, symbolizing oneness, happiness, and the power of collaboration. Truly a spectacle to remember!

Cultural Extravaganza

The stage came alive with a vibrant mix of skits, songs, dances, and concerts. Each performance radiated energy, passion, and creativity, proving once again the immense talent within our BWS family.

Authentic Onam Sadhya

Another first in BWS history — for the very first time, we brought in a catering team from Sri Krishnapuram to provide the authentic Onam Sadhya experience. Their sumptuous feast truly delighted every guest and became one of the highlights of the day.

Pookalam by Gen Z

The youth of BWS welcomed every attendee with a vibrant and beautifully crafted pookalam, showcasing their creativity and spirit.

Arrival of Maveli

The graceful entry of Maveli set the perfect festive tone, bringing cheer to every face.

Traditional Start

The day began with a traditional thalapolli and energetic chendamelam, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting by our main sponsors Shri. O.G. Vijayshankar & Mrs. Priya Vijayshankar along with our committee members. This was followed by a soulful invocation.

A solemn moment was observed to pay homage to the beloved BWS family members who departed in the past year.

A Perfect Finale

As the curtains came down on this vibrant day, the entire gathering rose together for the National Anthem, closing Varnam 2025 with pride, unity, and gratitude.

ബാംഗ്ളൂർ വാരിയർ സമാജം ( രജി) ൻ്റെ ഈ പ്രാവശ്യത്തെ ഓണാഘോഷം വർണ്ണം 2025 പൂർവ്വാധികം ഭംഗിയായി ഇന്നു ബാംഗ്ളൂരിലെ കഗ്ഗദാസപുരയിലുള്ള വി. കെ. സ്പോർട്സ് ക്ലബിൽ വച്ച് ആഘോഷിച്ചു.

പുതുതലമുറക്കാർ പൂക്കളമിട്ട് ചെണ്ടമേളാരവത്തോടെ മാവേലിയെ സ്വീകരിച്ചു ഭാരവാഹികളും മുഖ്യ സ്പോൺസറും ഭദ്രദീപം കൊളുത്തി തുടങ്ങിയ ചടങ്ങിൽ സമാജം പ്രസിഡൻ്റ് ശ്രീ എം.വി.വിജയൻ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷനായിരുന്നു. വായുസേനയിൽ നിന്നു ചീഫ് എയർ മാർഷൽ ആയി വിരമിച്ച ശ്രീ സുരേഷ് കുമാർ മുഖ്യാതിഥി ആയിരുന്നു. പ്രമുഖ വ്യവസായിയും ശബ്ദാനുകരണ കലയിൽ പ്രാവീണ്യമുള്ള ശ്രീമാൻ രവികുമാർ എ.വി(മുൻ സി.ഇ.ഓയും മാനേജിംഗ് ഡയറക്ടർ) അവതരിപ്പിച്ച പുതുമയേറിയ ശബ്ദവീചികാനുകരണ കലാപരിപാടി കാണികളെ ഹഠാദാകർഷിച്ചു. ശ്രീമാൻ രവികുമാറിൻ്റെ മകളും ചലചിത്ര നടിയുമായ ശ്രീമതി അശ്വതി വാരിയരുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തം ഈ ആഘോഷത്തിൻ്റെ മാറ്റു കൂട്ടി.

വാര്യന്മാരുടെ പരമ്പരാഗതതൊഴിലായ 'മാലക്കെട്ടലിൻ്റെ' ഒരു മത്സരം ഇന്ന് നടത്തി വിജയികൾക്കു സമ്മാനം നൽകി അനുമോദിച്ചു.

സമാജംഗങ്ങളും കുട്ടികളും ചേർന്നൊരുക്കിയ സംഗീതവും വിവിധ നൃത്തരൂപങ്ങളും നയനാനന്ദവും കർണ്ണാമൃതവും പകരുന്നതായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നത്തെ ചടങ്ങിലെ മുഖ്യ ആകർഷണമായി മാറിയത് ശ്രീമതി സുജാവാരിയരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ വനിതാംഗങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച മെഗാതിരുവാതിര ആയിരുന്നു. ഏകദേശം 65 വനിതകൾ കണ്ണഞ്ചിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പ്രദർശനമാണ് കാഴ്ചവച്ചത്. പ്രശസ്ത പിന്നണിഗായിക അഞ്ജലി വാരിയർ മധുരമായി ഗാനങ്ങൾ ആലപിച്ചത് ചടങ്ങിനെ മികവുറ്റതാക്കി മാറ്റി.

പഠനത്തിൽ മികച്ച കഴിവ് തെളിയിച്ച വിദ്യാർത്ഥി വിദ്യാർത്ഥിനികൾക്ക് ക്യാഷ് പ്രൈസ് നൽകി അനുമോദിക്കുകയും 70 വയസ്സ് കഴിഞ്ഞ മുതിർന്ന സമാജംഗങ്ങളെ പൊന്നാടയിട്ട് ആദരിച്ചു ഉപഹാരവും നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു

കേരളത്തിൽ പാചകകലയിൽ പ്രശസ്തി നേടിയിട്ടുള്ള ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണപുരത്തുള്ള ശ്രീമാൻ വിജയൻ വാരിയരും സംഘവും ആണ് ഇന്നത്തെ ആഘോഷത്തിനു സ്വാദിഷ്ഠമായ ഓണസദ്യയൊരുക്കിയത്. എഴുനൂറിൽ പരം അംഗങ്ങൾ ഈ ചടങ്ങിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു

നന്ദി പ്രകടനത്തിനു ശേഷം ദേശീയ ഗാനം പാടി വൈകുന്നേരം അഞ്ചു മണിക്ക് ആഘോഷം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ച് ചായ സൽക്കാരത്തിനു ശേഷം എല്ലാവരും പിരിഞ്ഞു.
